CRYSTAL BAY DESCRIPTION

Stunning natural scenery with very clear sea water, making divers impatient to infiltrate into it. You will not find this dive site again complete with cliffs and steep slopes. There are more small gaps surrounded by a variety of sea fish, certainly add charm from the place.

The coral mound is where small fish seek refuge. It is a natural habitat that fits and has not been disturbed by dirty hands of humans. No wonder that many divers who love to dive in this place because of marine biiota life.

You can spend the night to welcome the bright morning with a fresh landscape. Cyrstal Bay is home to great pelagic fish, sharks, stingrays, sunfish and cute turtles. While on the main part of the bay, has a shallow water between several rocks. The right area for divers to rest after watching the underwater life.

Nusa Penida has a general hospital, Rumah Sakit Pratama, in Banjar Nyuh, with Doctors, Nurses, 24hr Emergency Dept & onsite dispensary. This new facility is adequately equipped to treat minor illness and surgical operations but serious cases are sent back to mainland Bali for treatment
Nusa Penida is officially a malaria-free zone.

Nusa Penida Island lies in the middle of the Lombok Strait, one of the deepest channels in the world. The boundary is also known as the Wallace Line. Unpredictable tides and strong currents bring up deep nutrient-rich waters that feed the variety of extraordinary marine life to be found here.

Care is to be taken when swimming in any waters around Nusa Penida. Crystal Bay, Ped Village and Toyapakeh beaches are the safest to swim. The Island at Crystal Bay should be avoided as whirlpools and down-currents are common around the island and especially to the right.

Other beaches including Angels Billabong, Atuh Beach and Kelingking should be approached by checking the conditions first with your guide or a local stall-holder.

Bicycles area available to rent at Penida Colada Lounge Bar in Ped Village. Most of the roads on the north coast of the Island between Toyapakeh and Sampalan are flat and well surfaced. This is a great way to see the island at your own pace. But if you venture further up into the hills be prepared for hairpin turns, loose gravel and degraded shoulders in places.

The road to Angel's Billabong and Broken Bay is due to be sealed in 2018, but for now this road is near impossible to navigate by pushbike and only a little easier by scooter.

Scooters are widely available for rent and are the main form of transport around the island. Scooter hire includes fuel. For those not comfortable driving themselves, willing locals are also more than happy to transport you on the back of their motorbike for a fee.

In one day, you could easily tour the island and cross over to the smaller island of Nusa Ceningan.
